MP's:
Bidding goes:
1♣-(1♦)-DBL-(2♦)
2♠-(3♦)-3♠-(Pass)
??
DBL: at least one 4-card Major (I know this is not the best method and it is better to play that DBL shows both Majors. We will change this later).
What is 2♠ and 3♠ with these agreements on above bidding?
2♠: 4-card ♠ and minimum?
3♠: 4-card ♠ and some extra's or can it be minimum? (this would have been advantge of playing that DBL shows both majors, then you would already have shown the 4-card ♠ and 3♠ does more clearly show extra's or you can bid eg 3♠ competitive and 3♥ to show extra's)
My partner had around 9 HCP and I had 14 HCP and singleton ♦ and passed 3♠ which made +2 for a bad score. Seems rather obvious now that I should have bid 4♠, but what is the minimum I can have in MP's to go to 4♠?... in IMP's I would almost always bid 4.

With the singleton diamond, your hand is worth 17 DP, so once partner confirms spade fit, bid 4 anyway. What is the minimum stength he promised by the double?

I would say:
6 pts with both Majors
7/8 pts with 1 Major

I count 2pts for the singleton, so I would say 16 pts?
I agree that I should bid 4, but what do you consider the minimum for bidding 4 (or minimum for my partner to bid 3)?
