Boye Brogeland would double with many of his partners, as he plays that (1) Dbl-(P)-2m-(P)-2 shows 14-16 and a five card heart suit not good enough to overcall.

So there is at least one alternative.

Ugly but at MPs we need to act. The small S doubleton increases the likelihood that they have a fit, and it looks less dangerous to act now than late with partner proposing their D’s over a balancing TOX for instance.

At IMPs pass or X (apologizing tabling dummy at the 2D contract) can be less risky.
