2♣ as natural now looks like an underbid if opener can jump to 3NT. Are you sure it's not artificial?

Yes. I think opener should have rebid 2NT, though obviously they are at the top of the 2♣ range and feared we would pass with as little as a prime 7-count. I'll let the auction stand but I'm curious to hear what you would bid over 2NT as well.

And on to the next round!
The people that chose to rebid 2♠ get to play it there. I'll reveal the hand when the other auction has finished.

3N doesn’t exist in my world, even without bart. 2N shows a hand that has extras, say a 5134 17-18 count. More than that, he doesn’t bid 2C.
In any event I’m not passing. 3N (or the better 2N) should absolutely not include a heart void, so I’m bidding 4H

That a hand with 5134 shape would pass 2♠ but even as much as invite over 2♥, makes no sense to me. 2♠ doesn't show a weak raise.

You're right, my mistake. Partner will bid on over 2♠ (though that was not the auction at the table, so now I'm guessing). 3♦ seems right. To clarify, the auction is then (ignoring opps) 1♠-1NT; 2♣-2♠; 3♦.

It looks like partner is patterning out, although he could have bid 2N with 5134 (my choice even without anything resembling a heart stopper) and chosen the cheaper route 1♠-1N; 2♦-2♠; 3♣ with 5044.
I'm bidding 3♠ now.

A long time ago I bid 1♠-1NT; 2♦ with a 5=0=4=4 and my partner told that rebidding 2♣ is standard. I honestly have no idea which is better - it is difficult to anticipate the auction that early. Perhaps responder has long clubs and cannot show them over 1♠-1NT; 2♦.

4♠ now. 3♥ if partner had bid 2NT instead of 3nt.

When do we get to see the hand - how is a 3S pre-empt looking
-aren't other players starting to look at their watches?
