In an aggregate event, Norvite Pairs #86452, 1st N/S were awarded 1.5 BBO masterpoints and 1st E/W were awarded 3.8 masterpoints. Why would/should it be different?

E/W pair must have had a higher score.

The pair with the higher masterpoints almost certainly had a higher score, and placed in the overalls. You see this fairly often.

Also note that a pair can win 1st overall in the B strat and win more masterpoints than an A pair that has a higher score (because the A pair was lower in the overall rankings, and perhaps only had a section place, not an overall place). I agree this can be confusing.

Depends on the number of SECTIONS involved in the game. Overall placement in a multi-section game is more valuable (BBO or other) points-wise than section places-----b/c the overalls are measured against ALL of the players, not just those in YOUR section.
