When playing with Robots it's not possible to claim after losing a trick even though the claim button is highlighted. In a regular game you can claim whether you won the last trick or not. Also, why can't Robots claim?

Maybe because the robot cannot call the director is the claim is contested.

These are limitations in the GIB software that we acquired, and it has never been high enough priority to fix them.

The human can only claim a specific number of tricks when you're leading. If you're following to a trick, your only option is to concede all the rest.

That's why we added a checkbox to the concede dialogue, because players were frequently conceding the rest when they meant to claim all the rest.

Hello,
I still don't understand why robots cannot claim in the game. If there is another discussion page about this topic, I can write to there but rather than opening a new headline for this issue, I just wanted to ask from here. I believe that the app will be much more efficient if robots can claim. Thank you in advance.

Best,
Ümit

It's just the way the GIB software was written when we acquired it.

I would settle for being able to quickly and clearly claim things like "I concede all the tricks (but 1)"

Translation: We don't care enough to fix it.

Most of our robot changes have been to the bidding database. We have made very few changes to the GIB application itself. And this seems like it would be complicated, otherwise Ginsberg probably would have done it himself.

Why not hire Ginsberg? Is he available?

It's been at least 5 years since we've contacted him about anything. I think it was just to ask him about the reasoning behind some design decision.

He's effectively out of the GIB business.

So, maybe with enough $, you can lure him back? Try it!
