choices for GIBBO:
1. initial pass. violates neg dbl since has 4H
2. after 2C. cant bid 3C shows 4C. 2NT seems not right with the stiff dA. Strong communication problems - pard has minimum. Can't pass with 10 HCP.
3. Is 2H constructive? Yes, I think. If had 10+ "points and 5+ H would have bid 2H to start with.
Thus 3D seems right by lycier. Thoughts?

Apparently there is a hole in the system as the hand is too strong for pass and too weak for 2nt. Obviously it would be better to upgrade by one point and bid 2NT than to upgrade by two extra hearts and bid 2♥.
The world would be such a happy place, if only everyone played Acol :) --- TramTicket

Please look at my response to this post Abbess. I almost think 2H is brilliant by GIBBO.
