New version of GIB seems to like to bid 2nt a lot in response to 3rd/4th hand 1M. Instead of 1nt "semi-forcing". I think this is a mistake given that one might want to open a bit light in those positions and pass 1nt. It's probably OK to define 2nt the way it is (in case a human bids it), but it should prioritize bidding 1nt IMO planning on a 2nt rebid if given the opportunity. No reason to play 2nt if opener wants to pass 1nt.

Gib also would almost never make a passed hand natural 2/1 which at least is more useful thana PH 2N.
Now Gib plays Drury so 2/1 happens less often. Supposedly Gib will now bid 2H more often but haven't seem yet.

I haven't seen this happen but I will keep an eye out. In general, GIB will not be catering to light openings in third seat, although of course that doesn't mean it should be responding 2NT either.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

A natural passed-hand 2NT response to a major takes up too much room unnecessarily. Opener's rebid of 3 of a lower suit is NF, leaving you stuck with a shapely game-going hand that wants to explore options other than, but also including, 3NT.
