8-2

Also, bobhew32 has denied my challenge again, as well as ignoring a PM while he was online asking him to accept the invitation. I suspect he has no intention of competing in this challenge. Can anyone else in group 2 verify having the same issue?

It seems this setup could be 'gamed'.

I issue a challenge. Someone accepts. They get a string of bad boards. They dont play the last board. Challenge expires. New ball game.

Another devious move. I crush the first two and are convinced they are giant plus boards. I sit out the last few and get 50% on these.

Issuing a new challenge doesnt really help. They can wait it out the same.

Thr only sensible solution is to count boards played in a partial challenge. Unplayed boards get scored as zero.

Of course unplayed boards should be scored as zero, aren't we (we=this challenge tournament) doing this already?

There is probably a rule for expired challenges, I am not sure what it is.

From the rule book:
"Unfinished match: In KO stage, whoever responsible loses the match. In group stage, 25%:25% if both are responsible, 0VP:max(60%, 100%-opp's effective matches average) if one player is responsible. Players who fail to finish a match without notifying the public with legitimate reason will be ban from participating next two events."

My opinion as to the last sentence: I think there should be a distinction between missing just one challenge and missing a stage completely.

You/they'd get 0 VP for the match in both cases if the other player played. There's nothing to win by not finishing an accepted challenge.

Or they can turn an unplayed match in as a tie.

Sorry, bad attempt at humor.....

I still think it is wrong that I only get 6-4 from this farce:

Its not Imps man. Didnt look at the boards but your 710 and 480 might have been minus positions.

Still I agree with him. I think all his opponent's unplayed boards should count as .66 or something.

Isn't that a 10-0 win? BBO scores it as 6-4 but we don't have to.

Not sure what they should be worth, but I agree boards that weren't played shouldn't just be counted as 50%.

I played three of my challenges today and resent one that was about to expire. I resent to ye17 and phil. Sorry phil for not being online the last couple days when you already played out a set of boards.

Is there any other issue besides this one? (I label that score blue now and might change later.)

If the rule from the OP applies (see also post #124), xbabarx gets 0 points for it. For xbabarx that would currently make 12 points in 4 matches which is 30 %. If that were the final result, ye17 would get 70 % for this match but the value could go up or down to a minimum of 60 % depending on how successful xbabarx is during the remaining matches.
