Different than 11 tricks missing a top trump honour which never happens.
I realize the alternatives are unlikely to be very frequent.
I believe that the USA currently hold only the World Championship For People Who Still Bid Like Your Auntie Gladys - dburn
dunno how to play 4 card majors - JLOGIC
True but I know Standard American and what better reason could I have for playing Precision? - Hideous Hog

At vul versus non-vul, you will want to use it as ther tradicitional meaning, as it is highly unlikley you will be wanting to preempt to the five level in a so far uncontested auction. and it is more likley your opponents will be wanting to preempt against your 2C opening bid.
At equal vul, you need to decide which way is best. Pure preemptive or pure slam try. For easy of memeory, I prefer 5<M = weak not vul (more frequent), vul = pure slam try (look for tricks in major).

Too many tricks for 4♥, too few defence for 4♣, and 6♥ is pushing it as well.

I think I open 5M about once a year.
The last one was:
QJTxxxxx, J, xxxx, J
I rememeber the two singleton jacks
pass-pass-5s they played 6c made 7, I'll never know if opening 4s would have let them reach 7, probably not but who knows?

KQJ109xxxx
10x
10
10
Apart form the defending values of all those 10s... I probably should had opened at the 5 level, since I bid 5 anyway alter when they bid 5♦ (wich would made 13 tricks unless I found an inspired lead).

5♥ I would expect
Everything sitting in ♥, if partner has 2 aces, he is to bid it up to 6♥, with 3 aces, 7♥ because he knows I will have a wild hand with a definite solid suit.
