In light of some of the recent suspensions handed down to cheating pairs, isn't it time for BBO to strip these pairs of their star?

Honestly I have never been sure exactly what a star denotes anyway.

I believe it denotes that they've represented their country and won in international competition...perhaps it would be more meaningful if the star was in a different colour, such as black..or red...

Actually that might be a useful tool to put on profiles, a system of symbols. If someone was found to be cheating to have a symbol attached to the profile.. or if someone consistently abandoned a tourney/team match if they weren't doing well...

I believe at one point stars indicated that BBO recommends watching you. There are specific requirements for getting a star, but BBO does not have to give you one if you meet those requirements (and can take it away). I learned this distinction a long time ago when I was stripped of my star at one point for bad behavior :P

I know the BBO-Names of two of the cheaters. One of them still has his star, and the other does not have a star anymore.

Now that's a way to deter potential future cheats! EBL/ACBL/WBF may hand out a 2-5 year ban, but BBF WILL STRIP YOU OF YOUR STAR FOR LIFE!!!
