The match has been completed. Result? TIED MATCH. No winners or losers.
Comments/analysis/criticisms etc welcomed.

Blimey, identical contracts on 10 out of 12 hands. What are the odds of that?

How do you find the boards? tough to give a reaction without knowing what happened other than the result.

You can see other people's challenges in My Hands > Recent tournaments:

Click Everything - All recent tournaments
Choose a Friend Challenge from that list and click the host name

You'll get a list of all recent tournaments hosted by that person. In the URL, in the address bar, change the username to the one you wish to view. For example, if you want to see my challenges, you'll end up with this:

Personally, I didn't find the hands particularly interesting from a bidding perspective.
I'm not surprised at the heavy overlap wrt auctions and contracts.

I am not happy at the way I played the boards.
For example, I should have made 1NX after GIB switched away from Diamonds.

well I've just seen the hands and just want to say CONGRATS to PhilG on this outstanding result of a draw on 12 boards of BAM. This should put all the doubters to rest.

Board 8 was interesting. PhilG007 made a very conservative pass to the opponents 1NT and collected 50. You made a slightly understrength double on the first round and a very understrength 2nd double (should be 20+ according to GIB descriptions) but ended up in an excellent 4.

I think I would have shown the majors with 2. Wouldn't get to game unless GIB responds 3 but I don't know what GIB needs to bid 3.

After you won K, all you had to do was play a small trump to dummy, ruff the 4th spade, overruffing with A if necessary, and finish drawing trump to make 5. Even if trumps were 4-0, you can still make 4.

As bad mistakes go, this was pretty bad, but in your defense, I've done far worse for reasons that don't make any sense in retrospect.

I think with Hrothgar's hand I might take a view and pass 3H. Sure, 3H is forcing, but it is made in the expectation of 20+ total points opposite. As it happens, bidding 4H would have been unnecessary in order to win the board. Not that you could have known that, of course.

Yeah. I butchered a few hands in this match.

Not my finest hour.
Not my worst either, which is really disturbing...

Aha. I tried bringing up the hands via hrothgar, no luck But PhilG007 works. Apparently you have to go by the challenger.
