simple raising mistake of Gib

From Gib convention card notes - " 1M-2M direct raise shows 7-10 points" so Gib should be raising directly to 2♠.
This delayed preference could be made on 5-7 pts and 2-3♠. What other bid Gib make with such a hand? So bad description.

I think that the delayed raise should show up to 10 points with a doubleton support, up to 7 points with 3 card support. It may be one of those occasions where GIB flexed the Def by a card, the hand being so no trumpy that it suppressed the quality of the spade support . Quite reasonable I think.
