Ignoring the poorbridge.com bidding demonstrated below by NS, what is the difference between PASS and RDBL for you?

East has a void and it went all float, making exactly (no slam makes), but it would have been nice to have an agreement about Pass and RDBL here. I think it makes sense to Pass to be heart tolerance and RDBL to be to play, but I'm not actually sure.

It seems like the question is one about meta-agreements. Presumably (but not necessarily) meta-agreements for redoubles, in which case mine would be 'XX is for blood if it can be' - which to me would normally be up to the three level (though wank seemed to be claiming in another thread that was a level too high), but here it obviously can.

When this came up two years ago, I played XX as "go ahead, run like a stripe-tailed ape" (or more correctly, "I'm fine with playing 5, how about you?") - they didn't, and while the finesse I was concerned about was onside, +1000 beat +980 anyway. I would take pass as noncommittal, perhaps even concerned about the requested lead, and any number of spades as "I heard 'em, who cares."

You're pretty high to be investigating whether opener bid 3 on Kxxxxx.

I had considerable hearts support (I was south and had a completely undisclosed JTx in H), so perhaps I should rdbl.

I play that pass denies first round control in hearts - redouble promises it (ace or void)

This is a little different situation. I don't think meta agreements apply. p has jump rebid in . Don't need much to play in

With my regular partner, South would redouble with an Ace or a King/singleton in Hearts. With neither, he would pass.
