1 double
2 pass

Hand 1 is obviously close, hand 2 is not imo.

I don't think I would double on the first one. Not quite good enough for my standards for a direct double of a preempt. This is more of a style question than a bridge question.

The second hand is worth about a 15 second hesitation before passing (I assume you can take a joke). It is not quite good enough to double. HOWEVER, if I were playing my light-opening system and opened 1 on this hand, I would double. I have too good of a hand in the context of a possible 10HCP opening bid to pass.

I am assuming that the 3 call on the second hand is weak. This is not an automatic assumption. I play it as a mixed raise in one partnership.

I'm passing both, but pausing a lot longer on the first one. Second one has too many negatives - misfit for P's suit, defensive tricks, no great prospect of a three level part score, and a probable loser in their suit.
