2S was a WJS. Partner, bless his heart, leads the 2 of clubs, and dummy says she was hesitant to bid 1S lest opener rebid hearts but evidently failed:

Partner almost certainly led from Qxx so I played the K, is that OK? Anyway, declarer wins the ace and plays 4 rounds of trump and we have to find two helpful discards for partner (who has 9xxx of hearts). What should they be? Declarer discarded a club and three spades from dummy. We play simple Lavinthal discards and upside-down count and attitude.

No. If you play the J and declarer wins the queen, you'll immediately know you're playing for stop-overtricks.

Anyway, two clubs can't hurt, one encouraging spades and the other non-descript.

I am with Hanoi providing the ♣J is positive for spades and not showing the sequence. If we treat honour discards as special, which I think is the default, then the ♣T or ♣9 is to be preferred. I really want to be able to give partner spade count on the second discard.
