Was this a basic or advanced bot? An advanced bot will probably do a simulation and realize that it should run, or it might not even bid 1NT in the first place. The basic bot probably doesn't have a rule for this auction, so it has to pass and pray.
It probably should be West who pulls the double. 2♠ is the best contract.

Why should West pull? He has exactly what his bid shows, and even a semi-stopper in opp's suit. Why would he overrule partner's decision when partner has so much more information?

You're right, I forgot that his 1♠ was after a 1♥ overcall, so he already showed 5 cards.

Just now I found Gib have improve, look at this hand:
Generally speaking, after 1♦ opening, many "human" can overcall 1nt,but Gib pass sanely, very good.

North`s subsequent bidding seems a bit odd. To bid 5C suggests that he expects to go at most 1 down v making 4H. To bid just 3C on the previous round suggests that he does not expect to make 11. We conclude that he is confident of making 10 tricks +/- zero. I wish that I could have such foresight. OK, GIB would not bid 2C with South, but North knows nothing f this.

Psyche (pron. sahy-kee): The human soul, spirit or mind (derived, personification thereof, beloved of Eros, Greek myth).
Masterminding (pron. mstr-mnding) tr. v. - Any bid made by bridge player with which partner disagrees.

Why wouldn't there be a rule for this auction? It seems like a common one. And the 1NT rebid should require a heart stopper. (The description doesn't even say "probable" heart stop.)
