Hi,
Problem: When you inspect the team match results you only see the same table's results, irrespective of which of the two links (upper or lower) you click.

Detail: If you use the http://webutil.bridg...&d=Team%20Games link to look at team matches, and select the last column (leader board) to see the results you see a popup with two links. I'd expect this to be a link to each table.

But both links show the result of the same table (table 1), but from each of the two teams perspectives. I'd prefer that the second link shows the action from table 2.

Possible cause: It appears that the last parameter of the url is the name of the player. For link 1 this is player one from team one (playing on table 1). However, for second table it uses player 1 from team two, who is also playing table 1. If instead player 3 from team two (or player 3 from team one) was used as a parameter then the table 2's results would be displayed instead, which I'd prefer.

Extra wish: If the URL had one fixed TARGET ID for table 1, and another for table 2, we could play through the hands one by one with the two spawned windows (one for each table) showing adjacent to each other, hand-by-hand. Which would make it easier to compare play between tables.

Thanks, good observation. This bug will be fixed.

This is improved. It now uses player 1 for the 1st place team, player 3 for the 2nd place team, in the link to the hands.

There are still some issues, though. The record of results is by team name, with a roster of players. But the archive of individual hands is just by player name. So if there are substitutions during the game, and the player selected for the link was either a player who withdrew or his substitute, you'll only see the subset of the hands that they played.

What I might do as a further improvement is move the links from the team scores to the player names in the roster, so you'll get the list of hands from that player's perspective.

We don't save any information by table, it's all just by team and player.

Wow! that was quick, Barry, Rain! And it works :)
So maybe you could think about the other improvement....

If the links of the list of table1 were generated such that the "movie" links were "www...myhand.... target=table1" and on the other table "..... target=table2" then the two separate popup browser windows show each hand according to the table. And clicking on each new hand (movie) would show the hand in the correct table window, replacing the previous hand. This would make it much easier replaying through the boards and comparing play/bidding.

That's not something I can do just in the myhands application -- we'll need to change lots of things to save all the data by table, in addition to the per-player data we currently have.

I'm not sure anything needs to be done in the saving mechanism. Just the list display.
Anyway, it's a feature suggestion so I moved the discussion here (with an example):

Hi,
Is it possible that the software has reverted to using the old algorithm again (player 1 from team A + player 1 from team B) instead of players 1 and 3 from team A?

All the best,

Looks like this change got overwritten when adding changes for Instant Tournaments. Fixed.
