And the description of the 2♥ bid is bad, after the lack of a negative double over 1♠... unless East thinks West wanted to leave in a re-opening double, but that seems unlikely...

What's up with this 2♥ bid?

The 2♠ and 3NT bids are also misdescribed.
I guess W was stuck for a bid first time round (I'd bid 2[clbus]), and decided showing points was more important than shape second time.

I'm sure that's a direct result of thinking his partner is showing 11+ total points with 4+ hearts.
What????
wasnt there a pass in there?
GIB always seems to forget that his partner passed
so he takes the bid like his partner never passed
see this alot in NT auctions
1NT pass pass bid
pass pass 2NT
GIB almost always takes these as invitational still even though partner passed

showing 11+ total points with 4+ hearts, which cannot be right. The fact that East "thinks" his partner is showing 11+ total points with 4+ hearts is what leads him to bid 3N.
What should the 2♥ bid show on this auction? 6+ hearts and not enough strength to make a negative double?

sure just like all those other discussions we have about free bids etc
if GIB thinks its partner has 11+ hcp there isnt one thing we can do about it
we know it doesnt make sense, but someone needs to change it
