MP's, all red:

T9x
QJ
Kxx
AKQxx

1 or 1NT?

After:

1NT-2*-2-3
???

*5+ hearts 4+ in a minor

If you weren't going to pass 3, would you bid 3 or 4? Do you consider the pass normal? (2 is a sign-off)

Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the 3.

Along the same lines as Fluffy.

I open 1NT and do nothing further.

This is about as likely a -200 as I have seen recently.

I prefer to bid freely when my hand has gotten better, not when it has gotten worse.

Also, they might be pushed to game, hope they don't get doubled and concede -100. Surprise, the QJ are dropping and LHO caught the perfect dummy. "Must be our lucky day pard".

They might even make 5.

Completely obvious pass.

Obvious pass. You probably won't make anything you attempt to bid at this point.

I agree obvious pass over 3 but we can make the point that partner's 2 over 2 has a higher minimum than if he transferred directly over 1NT. He should pass over 2 with 5332 0 counts (and 1 and 2...) If my majors here were QJx xx I would definitely raise.

If playing SNT, I would have downgraded this and opened 1. Having opened 1NT it now looks like an easy pass at red. If playing WNT, having downgraded, I bid 3 now.
