if my hand were
ATxx Q KQx xxxxx
I would bid 5h and since my current hand is at best 1 trick stonger
I see no reason to deviate from a 5h bid the heart Q should provide
sufficient support to the 4h bidder and anytime p has decent
power along with great hearts slam should be a favorite.

denied 1 1-loser trump suit with 4+ controls.
So any up-bid is dreaming. PASS.

and decided to overbid 4H rather than a simple 3H because of the club void and because i wasnt sure how light my partner would be willing raise me to 4H vul vs NV. With my regular partner i would just bid 3H. Anyway north has to force to 6 (or keycards or make a try for 7) because over most slam tries all slam tries south will bail out to 5H feeling he already have overbid significantly.

Here, you do: about 8 - 10 points (or 2 - 3 tricks) more than partner expects.
I'd probably bid 6♥, though 5♣ is a reasonable bid as well. I want to be in 6♥ at least, with 6NT and 7♥ possible (though remote). Partner cannot have the ♣A unless LHO preempted on (6 or) 7 to the jack, so 7NT is out.

Simplify the complicated side; don't complify the simplicated side.

You do not have a stronger bid than 4H for this hand?
A perfect SQJ +CKQ +Hxx is a cold slam. That's 8 hcp,
how can partner even suggest good stuff when you may
have so-o-o much?
Where is the top for 4H for you?
What other strong bid(s) are you not using?

What on earth would you bid with this hand if not 4H?

How will you feel if you double and pd bids 4S on a 4 carder? Happy?

Again what is the top for 4H for you?
What other strong bids are you not using?
If your response is "only Double shows strong"
then I see YOUR problem. That is NOT a problem
to me - I have other strong bids.
Good grief man, did you not read my post?

No. This hand is not worth more than 4♥. It is a fine 4♥ call. 4♥ shows a very good hand. This is a very good hand.
I don't even know why you think this hand is better than a 4♥ call. It is not even close to a 2♣ opening. I suppose if you added the ♣K and changed the ♠K to the ♠A then 4♥ would be an underbid. Still, I don't know if there is a reasonable alternative. Most players play that double followed by 4♥ doesn't show a stronger hand - rather, it shows a more flexible hand (say, one less heart and one more spade).

All I can say is that if you want a stronger bid than 4H for this hand you have no idea of hand evaluation and even less of bidding over a pre empt.
