This is the first of a (mini-)series of interesting decisions faced by the North-South pairs in one São Paulo Cup round some months ago. I will post them separately and then give the full hands after some days.

This problem makes me sick. Pass or double are my best choices, I lean to pass cos the bad shape means I rather have extras for double.

Do you have to bid now? Probably. So dbl.

No problem playing ELC (just pull 3H to 3S) and you can always pass 3H or bid 4C not playing ELC.
