Partner is agressive and 6 carder is possible.
I underbid this one vs 3 level preempt.

Partner is agressive and 6 carder is possible.
For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."

At these colors playing IMPS my best partner (RIP) said I needed a 2♣ opener to raise this call so either the requirements for 2 ♣ have dropped or your partner has a lot more than you expected

agreed........there are a lot of players who seem to think that if they pass they deny a suit of this length, but they don't...they merely deny a hand suitable for a preempt. Pass may be a four letter word, but when one passes and then, if the opportunity arises, show a long heart suit and some values, partner may be far better positioned than after a misdescriptive preempt.
Look at how trivial this hand becomes after N opens a strong 1N

i dont think S is quite strong enough for this, but 1N:4D; 4H-P certainly works for me.

If the last sentence is correct, then I guess your partner should've opened 4♥. He's too strong for 3♥ at this vulnerability.

Game is far less wonderful if opener doesn't have the spade ace which you don't promise and partner doesn't expect.
I really don't like preempting with a shabby suit and a side ace.
If you go for a number the opponents will probably not be able to make a slam.
