Scoring: IMP

My table plays:
N [space]E [space]S [space]W
 [space] [space] [space] [space] [space]/
1[di] / [space]1[sp] 2[cl]
4[di] 5[cl] 5[sp] /
6[di] / [space]/ [space]//

Open lead: 7
Result: +1

Another table plays:
N [space]E [space]S [space]W
 [space] [space] [space] [space] [space]/
1[di] / [space]1[sp] /
2[di] / [space]4[sp] /
6[di] X [space]/ [space]/
//

Open lead:a
2nd trick lead:a
Result: -1

Conclusion:
Leading a non-trump A is good for defensing a large suit contract.

Certainly superior to underleading Aces, this time.

Of course, a bazillion examples could be provided where the heart 7 lead from A7x might be the only lead to set the contract.
"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

See This hand

South led a low heart from A83 as the only lead to beat the slam.
As a mild matter of interest, west made 7NTx in the other room.

a better conclusion: when you can cash two fast tricks against opponents slam, it's a good thing to do it ;-)
