If I had bid 3♠ and partner had bid 4♦ and it got doubled, I'd happily pass. Pass of 4♦ doubled is horrible namely because we haven't shown our hand correctly previously! Don't get me wrong, I still think pass is horrible too.

To be fair, the opponents bids were in parantheses. Ok, I'm alright with the bidding then. I vote Roger's initial post as worst of the month.

lol gnome . He had the bids in parentheses, and then asked what we thought of the opponents' bidding (at least this is what I read it as, it was actually just giving details about the opps' system). I thought it was a fair interpretation.

Anyway I wouldn't double 3NT.

LHO had long ♦'s and only 7 HCP. Therefor he did run from 3NT.
4♦ made so I had better not DBLed 3NT.

On scorecard there already was twice 4♠+1 and once 5♠=.
I guess opps helped there by playing ♣.

I have never seen a 3♠ call over 2♠ in this auction:

(1♠) - pass (2♦)
(2♠) 3♠

but I would be tempted with this hand.

Fine with the auction. You can add my vote to Roger's as worst post of the month.

Could not resist balancing with 4♠ over 4♦. Bidding 3♠ over 2♠ should be natural but I would rather pass to avoid any mix up
