I think I'll bid 4, I don't want partner to mistake 4 for some sort of encouragement. And, partner should be prepared for me to return to my suit, it will be a common action over his 3.

With a club guard I would usually bid 3NT just in case that was what p was fishing for. With this junk it might be better to bid 4. Interesting problem.

I'm sure it won't be popular, and I'm honestly not sure what I would do, but if there was ever a hand where the odds are with passing a forcing bid before things get worse...
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

4D, but not liking it.

I'd pass, twice!

I would open 3 or 4, never 2.
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

Hi,

I may be in a minority here, but I dont believe,
that 3H is forcing, so I would pass.

With kind regards

Thanks all for the comments: I was north and my hand: Kx.AQJ9x.AKTx.xx, I felt that 3 top losers made 5D unlikely and I hoped to survive 3H.
Anyway, this was with a new partner who had earlier not opened a weak 2D because he had a weak side 4 card major. In spite of my strength, perhaps my best call is 4d over 3c?

4. It's tempting to pass, but it could be terribly wrong. And very undiciplined.
Kind regards,
Harald
