I would pass and hope for 1S p 1N p 2C X (I can dream can't I?) where it's safer to get in.

Isn't this the infamous West Texas Penalty Double?

LOL, yes it is. Good memory.

Will you believe me Bob Hamman overcalled 2 with this? (In a practice BBO session, playing with Chris Compton.)

I was at dinner with bob tonight and told him about this thread and he laughed. Then Petra was like "BOB HOW CAN YOU OVERCALL WITH THAT?!" and he said basically you're just betting on which hand has the hearts...heh.

Petra should grow some <synapses>.

(I know I shouldn't talk, yesterday I passed with 9xx AQxx KJ9xxx - after p - p - (1S) red against white)
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

Han I meant to talk to you about this yesterday, I think this pass is really terrible. Even DRG mocked it but then I reminded him that he has never overcalled at the 2 level with less than 18 HCP and a solid 6 card suit in his life.

You comment during the match was pretty clear :). Besides, 2 seconds after my pass I could hardly believe what I had done.
