Hi all

For ACBL land, does anyone know what I should alert or announce over 3nt during an auction?

I understand a few years ago the rules changed.

One specific auction is:

1NT=(2s)=4d(heart trf by partner)

That would be an announcement ("hearts"). Announcements are made when the call is made, regardless of level.

For calls above 3NT at or after opener's second call, some alerts are delayed. The following are not delayed: alerts of doubles, redoubles or passes that require an alert; any announcement. Alerts of control bids below 3NT (e.g., 3 showing a spade control) are also delayed.

The Alert Procedure can be found at https://www.acbl.org...rnament/#charts about halfway down the page, or at https://web2.acbl.or...-Procedures.pdf directly. Reading it is strongly recommended.

Behind screens or online, alerts are never delayed. The relevant regulations are at http://web2.acbl.org/coc/AppendixG.pdf for screens or https://web2.acbl.or...y/AppendixO.pdf for online.
