Here is the board:

Maybe Ben's 4NT doesn't have the same meaning as Standard/Advanced GIB.. But why are we offered the same bid description ?

Can the author of Ben explain ?

Ps. board was an absolute 0% which determined me to leave the tournament.. :(

Are you sure you played with a Robot? Pass looks like a misclick to me.

So does 4. When you have an unusual auction with Ben, it makes unusual bids, because its logic is based on how the auction has worked in the past, rather than e.g. being told what 'Blackwood' is.

hi, thanks for raising.

this problem is fundamental at the moment.
the cause is that no bidding rules are programmed at all. the bidding comes from the neural network, which has no understanding of bidding concepts like blackwood and similar.
occasionally (rarely) on long and infrequent auctions, it will happen that it will go into uncharted territory, and then good luck :)

why are gib explanations used?
because the model is trained to bid similar to gib, and it indeed bids approximately like gib (except for situations like the above)

on average, ben bids significantly better than gib, so i recommend that you continue to try it. but be prepared that occasionally it will look like it has lost its mind.

we are working on solutions to mitigate situations like the above.
