Is it possible to run a Team Match with a swap of opponents at half time?
Obviously it could be two separate matches, but then there are two results files.

No.

I find it interesting how many (new to BBO) people want or expected this, as it's not something that has been seen on BBO or historically asked for. These newer players also have patience and want to play long events, not attributes of a traditional BBO user :)

When BBO calms down I'm sure they'll put it on a list of improvements but I suspect it will be pretty low.

I think the issue is that in a normal KO team game, the team that's down at the half has the seating rights to change the seating.

Paul is correct, don't think any of the developers was aware of such a custom.
Suggest treating two diiferent "BBO" matches as two halves of the same match, even name them $name (1st Half) and $name (2nd Half).
You'll have to tally them by hand, but other than that, seems to me it would fit your expectations.

The real issue is that there is more than one definition of normal. One definition has been implemented.

We tried this tonight. Because of the problems in setting up team matches after 7.00 p.m. (UK time) we set up a 25 board team match with the aim of the pairs swapping after 12 boards and everyone passing out Board13.
Unfortunately we couldn't leave the table as BBO apparently won't let you leave a seat or even log out. When we forced quit and logged back in again we were immediately taken back to the original table. The team director wasn't able to "unreserve" seats. So we ended up playing all 24 boards as we were.
Any suggestions or help please?

I expect this is because many of the "new" players are expecting to play in structured events against known players and partnerships. With a few exceptions, most of the team games used to be a team of mostly random and anonymous players playing against another team of mostly random players. Playing with a random player, sometimes as few as 1 or 2 boards is more than enough time to be playing in that match.
