I am looking for a 2/1 bridge book. My friends and I have been playing casually for a couple months, and have decided to learn a system together in an effort to organize and standardize some of our bidding techniques. However, we are not all at the same level, so I would prefer something more "beginner style", rather than aimed at intermediate/advanced players. I have done some research on the subject, and found popular books by Audrey Grant, Mike Lawrence, and Paul Thurson. Also, I have already crossed Hardy off the list. Any recommendations?

Thurston. That's 25 Steps To 2/1, isn't it? It's decent.
If you hadn't already crossed Hardy off your list, I would have recommended his green book (Standard Bridge Bidding For The Twenty First Century).
