I was playing around with one of the chess tactics trainer sites ("Chess tempo") yesterday and was wondering whether anyone has considered doing something similar for bridge. Take all the robot tournament hands and analyze them with GIB single-dummy, looking for spots where the human player made a significant error. Compile a large set of such problems and provide some interface which allows the training user to click through tricks to get to the critical moment and then try to solve. Maintain a Glicko-style rating for each problem and user so users can be given problems which suit their ability level.
I wonder whether such a method would uncover interesting problems or if most of them would be trivial mistakes.
