If it is not some sort of April fool's day hack, then one wonders about the American legal system (again!)

Seems like an April Fool's joke to me. Let's see what happens in a few hours.

EDIT: On rereading the post on the Bridgewinners site, there are several things about the post that just don't ring true. I am convinced that it is an April Fool's joke.

You can still get into the site via various direct links such as for example https://bridgewinner...=332775#c332775 which contains a post from three hours ago. That suggests that it is an April joke. But it is a weird way of making a joke, to make your whole site almost inaccessible.

But if you try to navigate within the site you are directed back to the notice.

If so, they left it rather late in the day to implement. Or maybe they don't realise that other countries have different time-zones.

Depends which links you follow. You can for example still find threads via the recent updates list, and you can vote in polls.

I have to believe that this is an April Fools joke.

Pretty damn good one, though...

The poker sites www.fulltilt.com and www.pokerstars.com were closed down by the DOJ and now default to an address in your country, so I would not be surprised if this is real, possibly by one or more of the alleged cheaters.

First Amendment, being about free speech, makes it unlikely that any judge, even a Florida judge, would issue an injunction on the grounds suggested in the Bridge Winners post. Even the posting of the site closing would have violated the injunction. Conclusion: APRIL FOOL.

Agree a joke. I think they should have hammed it up a bit more though. It's a little bland as is.

my first reaction was "wtf?" My second was "oh, right, April 1". We'll see.

Gotta love April 1. If this had been real, we might have read something along the lines of "We need your help. In order to attain effective counsel we need our readership to step up and donate $10 each so we can afford something more than some public defender greener than the pass cards. Payment is as simple as purchasing an NABC entry online through our site. Thank you for your understanding."

I'm no lawyer but believe if this had been real they would have asked for money (again).

Very strange. It looks normal except that no content has been added for five hours. And some pages like the intermediate forum are still in April Fool mode.
