What does partner want from me?

I think parner made a light slam try and I have an easy pass now. Possible finesses in ♦ and ♥ rate to be offside.
I assume partner had splinters/fitjumps available if he wanted to see if I had the right cards for slam.

Partner has splinter, fitjumps, transfers to show a suit of his own available.

This sounds like a mild slam try for spades - I wonder if it's a club control partner is after? He might have tried 4C if he needed a diamond control or 4D if a heart control.
What is 4C/4D/4H over 2D?

4C would be a splinter agreeing diamond, if partner believes we belong in spade, he will correct whatever to a spade contract.
4D would set diamonds.
4H would be ..., I guess fit jump, showing the red suits, although he had the option to transfer to diamonds and
show the heart suit later.
2H would have shown a suit on its own, gf values.

piecing together the clues you left P did not have a 2s or
a 3s bid available since both might have been considered
non forcing. Your p had to temporize. Assuming p had a
4c splinter available for use--why did p embark on slam
bidding using 3c??? Our hand is about as perfect as it
can be for slam though the spade J and dia Q could be
the dia K which would make it almost a miracle hand for
the bidding----so cooperation for slam is fine but how and
why?
IMO p has 2/3 heart losers off the top. When p bid 3c (asking
for a club stop then showing no interest in nt--they are cue
bidding for slam. The 3c bid itself does not tell p story but the
failure to bid 3h does. Anytime p has slam interest and minor
suit worries they can start with 3h (which also would get a 3n
response with clubs stopped).
Given these circumstances i would
