Matchpoints. Mainstream 2/1.

Do you move over 4H?

I want to. The triple fit and 5 ltc hand suggests we have a lot. But I'm not sure I have a good move (5? or 5?) and it is matchpoints. Partner is unlikely to have 3 card support so is probably 4=2=3=4 or the like. Why haven't the opponents bid diamonds? For slam to be good partner needs 4 of the 5 of (AKQ, Q, K). While partner could certainly have an opening hand, he could have as few as ~8. And a perfect 8 or 9 is still too little for a good small slam. So my first instinct was 5, but I think I pass now.

Partner does not need to hold so good spades, but still:
What did 3 and 4 show? Can partner really hold enough cover cards and can the opponents stay silent with around 10 diamonds between them w/r and all honours there?

Possible, but I would still pass easily.Of course partner will table Axxx,Qx,xxx,KJxx and both suits break 3-2...
Kind Regards

Roland

3 is 4+ invitational strength, likely denies diamond stopper unless a very shapely hand

4 is 2 , ostensibly placing contract

I definitely would not move over 4H.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.
