Tournament restriction questions

BBO just prevented me from joining a tournament on the grounds that I'm "new to BBO". I've been here since July 2007. How long do I have to belong to BBO before the "newbie" label goes away?

When the Tournament Completion Rate calculation was implemented, "new to BBO" was anyone who had not played 10 tournaments in the past 30 days. Based on myhands, you've played 17, so hopefully a yellow can tell us if the guidelines are now different.

This is not the completion rate, but the newbie filter. It's a restriction some tourneys use to prevent trouble-makers from creating a new ID after they've been blacklisted and join the tourney again under a different username. It's not aimed against newcomers to BBO, but unfortunately they are affected too. Stick around for a while and your newbie label will go away.

Five years isn't long enough?

The use count requirement is presumably so that the "troublemaker" can't create a bunch of accounts, so that when one of them gets banned he just switches to one of the others. Despite these other names having been around for a while, they would still be considered new because they'd been mostly idle.

Hi,
I too have been trying unsuccessfully to join tournaments but get rejected as it says my completion rate is not high enough. My profile shows my completion rate as unknown. Have I done something wrong in the past and how do i get my completion rate up if i cannot join certain tournaments?
Regards,
Vicstart

See the help file: http://www.bridgebas...tion_rates.html
TCR is based on the past 60 days, and you need 10 tourneys during that time to get a TCR. You've only played in 5 tourneys in the past 2 months. Enter a few more tourneys that don't have TCR restrictions and then you'll be able to enter restricted tourneys.

I certainly meet any reasonable number (not that it has any business being a secret).

The reason for keeping it a secret is to make it harder for people to game the system.
