With ATxx I dont mind passing. Will bid hearts later.

I also think its ok to bid 2H, but the hand feels like it could be a misfit whenyou have spade void and so many diamonds so not keen to overstate my values.

I would have expected 3 to be seen, almost universally in this forum, as fit-showing.

I would pass, because the odds of this hand being passed out are slim and, if the hand is passed out, we probably can't make much....diamonds might be our only 7 card fit :D

Maybe you should rethink that suggestion? (There's a clue in the title of the thread.)

I'd X followed by a bid, if possible (not if partner bids 4, probably not over opps 5)

I would bid 3 if systemic and don't agree that fit showing is anywhere near universal. Otherwise I would bid 2 and rebid 3.

I'd pass, 3 is fit showing for me.

Perhaps DBL and then bidding is my alternative, which shows long and not good enough to start 2, since i dont expect raise from opponents and since i dont expect pd to convert it to penalty due to my holding, this can actually go smoothly.

I would have suggested X followed by hearts also. No other takers?

I would bid 3H, which I play as about 7-9 pts with 6+ hearts. I don't like playing this jump as support, I think natural meanings are more frequent and also very useful. My second choice is 2H, and my third choice is pass.

It's true that we are extremely light for 2H. However, if we aren't allowed to bid 3H then the only real alternatives are pass and 4H. The suit doesn't seem good enough for 4H, and there is a lot to be said for bidding a 7-card heart suit before people start bidding spades.

I would never double with 7 hearts and 0 spades. If I do that the bidding will surely come back to me with 4S, the only question is whether partner or an opponent is the first to bid it.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

double is ridicoulous, you will get a lot of spades from partner at a high level, you want to slow him down, not encourage.

I play 3 as natural forcing, but that's because I play NFBs, either 2 or 3 should show weak (some range between 6 and 9) with hearts. Some transfer could also work if you want.
