By accident-came across a well known Famous player, and obtained his handle,
which i made him as a friend.and it gave me the distinct pleasure.
{1} i knew when he was on line-thus if nothing doing i could Kibbitz,
it is a pity more famous players do not publish their handles, then
we lowly players can be spoilt for choice....... or is their such
a list? I rule out Walddek,he is a busy busy person :)

Most famous players have stars. If they're famous and don't have stars, they've probably asked NOT to be listed, so you should respect their wishes.

It goes without saying "respect one's wishes" but I
would like to know why non starred persons, want to remain
secretive-thinking about it perhaps a World Class player is afeared of a written
backlash, if they screw up a hand or hands, after all we are all capable of that.

There are 2 main reasons I know of why star players would want to keep private:
1. They don't get (as many) team match requests from randoms when private
2. They don't want to feel obliged to conform to a higher standard than the rest (behavior wise).
I have noticed that a fair few people have 2 nicknames, one for star status and the other without. Probably because they do want to be left alone occasionally.

Does the handle open doors? Or do you have the key? If the expert partners are on a different wavelength then it probably won't help you
