Ace king of spades lead. RHO plays the jack then the 7. Opps are not too good.<br>

... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

I'm a big fan of landy, but 2C here? Wow, these Dutch you play with are hyper.

I would lead a diamond towards the king. If it wins I may get to ruff three spades. If it loses I haven't lost much.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

Even if the diamond loses you'll still make if LHO is 4=4=2=3: win the heart return, ruff another spade, club to dummy, A, three more rounds of clubs.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

Btw what do you think of 3C from S instead of passing out the x?

Because you, Han, my wife and I are probably the only players in the Netherlands who know what Ripstra is... ;)

BTW, I agree with Han that your partner is hyper, but I have seen quite a few of these hyper players in the Netherlands. That is the reason why in the Netherlands I play penalty doubles at the two level when partner opens 1NT.

That would have been good to do if partner's majors were swapped. But it would be bad if partner had the hand that he should have had.
