I want to give partner a chance to show something in spades, which should be the key to a diamond game or slam. 4♣ will use up too much room.

Does either 2♥ now or 3♠ next round show any length, or only strength? OP said that 2♥ shows concentration . . . .
If not length, then I don't know that you'll show (even approximately) this hand. This suggests that you shouldn't try to show your hand, you should try to let partner show his hand.

Meanwhile, how is the auction going after 4♣? I admit that my use of kickback makes the continuation of 4♦ 4♥ impossible and 4♦ 4N (♥ cue) unattractive with my spade holding.
I'm going with 2♥. Sure, partner may think we're headed for 3N, but my subsequent bidding will remove that illusion.....and I lose no ground doing so, since I am bound to have exchanged more information, than the splinterers, by the time I go past 3N.
But I'd be even happier with a better method over the inverted raise....say using 2M to describe hand type (balanced, unbalanced, maybe a comment about extras, rather than being semi-natural)

Agreed.... you don't necessarily want to initially go past 3NT.
That is why Max Hardy says over an Inverted-2D raise that Opener's 3H-jump, 3S-jump, and the 3C-non-jump are all SPLINTERS.
If you feel you have a hand that definitely should be played in ♦, then the 4C-jump would definitely show your VOID.
With J-4th in ♠, I would choose the 3C ( shortness ) rebid .
.... Partner may then have an opportunity to choose 3NT or make a cuebid ( obvious a Sp-Ctrl, since you have both ♥-Ctrls ) . Over his 3S cuebid, you then can rebid 4C to show your void.

I've seen the 3C! = splinter before by posters a few years ago .
You have to admit it is priceless on this hand ..... specifically descriptive yet staying BELOW 3NT !
