Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the 3.

All those Jacks don't improve the hand. West has an easy pass imo.

Nobody bids 4 over 3 thinking that he will make it without any help from his pd. He was already guessing/hoping what we hold.

If we are making a move with this over 4, that shows we actually deserved to defend 3, untill we discover there are other options between defending 3 uncontested and playing 6.

If I held the West hand, I would be hopeful but not positive this was an adequate dummy for 4. The KJ are particularly terrible.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess the OP's partner held the 1=6=3=3 hand and they got too high when the OP got excited and made a slam try.

If prd has right maximum for his bid, 6 would be an excellent contract...sadly my prds tend to have wrong minimum

Point of the thread. At another time in another place, East would have Axx KQ8xxx A10x x, and those three jacks would be the Three Musketeers of the hand.

But this is exactly why people preempt.

In an attempt to make your good case stronger you go so over the top that you end up writing nonsense.

This is a good dummy and you are more likely to miss a slam than to go down in 4. The KJ doubleton behind the preemptor is not terrible at all.

Having said that, I agree that it is an easy pass, which is perhaps what Phil meant to say.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.
