If you are an average team who is unlikely to qualify for the KO stages, then you will play two days of bridge in the Mixed Team and 2.5 days of bridge in the Open Teams. If you do qualify then you get another 0.5 day per KO round (R32, R16, R8, semifinal). This presumes that you are not in a round-robin group with an odd number of teams.
By contrast, you seem to be guaranteed at least 3, probably 4, days of Mixed Pairs bridge and 4, probably 5, days of Open Pairs.
Valuewise you get a lot more bridge for your euro playing matchpoints.

Sounds like a good deal. Who wants to go play the pairs?

On the entry fees issue for my €200, got 250 boards, 100 of qually, 100 of semifinal B (from there, 6 to final A), 50 of final B.
For those playing final A, will be 52 boards more, today, Saturday. (in the Open. Not sure in Women).
For those playing pairs, would be more boards, could drop into pairs competition for free after finishing participation in the teams competition, and for six handed teams would be even cheaper.

It was my understanding, reading the regulations and previous events, that free entry to the pairs was only given to the finalists of the teams competition. Just making the KO stages, or even the semifinals, of the teams was insufficient for free entry to the pairs event even though you got to drop in a later qualifying stage.
