Frequent BBO individual players, what bidding and carding scheme do you asume during idividual events? SAYC and standard carding?
I played 3 events and found it confusing.
Do yo have any tip for making a fast agreement with the stranger partner for each round?
Thanks.

Every individual I have ever played in has had a default CC. Sometimes it is permitted to make minor changes, sometimes not. Does BBO not use a standard card for individuals? Perhaps someone should suggest it.

Does BBO itself actually run individuals other than the Express Fun games? In those, everyone is committed to playing the GIB 2/1 card, since robots replace slow/disconnected players, frequently mid-hand.

In most of the others, people claim to play SAYC, but many of them think that SAYC means "Standard American, however I learned it at any time in the last 50 years". Sometimes you'll run across other systems; one partner was very unhappy with me for passing her opening 2D bid when her profile clearly said "SEF". I got very little sympathy when I asked "What is SEF?"

Presume SAYC unless the profile clearly indicates otherwise. ("SAYC, no transfers" in a profile should be a good warning to you.)

Assume bad bridge and worse carding. Then at least you'll be pleasantly surprised every 1 in 100 hands or so.
Yay for the "Ignored Users" feature!

on BBO: no doubt for me, I assume ACBL SAYC. Nothing else.

Fast tip: Read the SAYC card, assume SAYC and standard carding, and expect lots of disappointments.
In ACBL indy the disappointments are less frequent; SAYC card is mandatory and posted for you if players do not post their own (GCC compliant) system card instead of it.

Other fast tip: Smile :) Do not expect to do well in an indy with strangers.

Yes, assume SAYC but not really. Try hard to avoid bidding any suit that you do not wish to play in.
