A BBO commentator said recently that "fearless" was a euphemism for "bonkers". :)

I bid 5, knowing it may not work out. I have 8 of them, so its unlikely that I have a total stack against me. I could be making 5 clubs, I could push them to a not making 5 spades (insurance), I could go for a number with AQT of clubs behind me, or I could dissuade partner from bidding 4N with his own red two-suiter and save us from disaster.

The problem with bidding 5 is that partner will expect a lot more power from us. We'll be in slam before you know it. I'll pass.

I'd like to bid on this, but I think it's a bit too much. Pass. Would do so opposite a passed pard, as he rarely has raise material.

Even though it's an 8 card suit, it's a crappy suit, and we have 1 or two defensive tricks... KQ doubleton in trump isn't something we want to be bidding on. When we go down less than 800, we were beating 4. When we are making, partner was taking an action. It's not like we have a spade void and are so worried about partner being stuck.

Pass.

pass, the hand is poor, and partner might raise to awful slams, with this spades partner will reopen many times, sadly he might reopen with 4NT or 5 red
