Over 3♠ I'd ERKC in clubs, now I am captain and hopefully will be able to stop at 6♥... Still not too confident.
I admit maybe opening 2♣ this is a bit less of a problem, but any time I do that my opponents seem to bid on the 4 or 5 level before it gets back to me.

I don't like 3♦, too likelly to get raised and then it is a mess.
We would be in a much better position than 2♣ openers now we heard the best possible bid: 1♠ if the auction went competitive, but now it surprisingly didn't turn competitive we have no good rebid.
I don't wanna lose captaincy of the hand, so maybe 5♣ if avaible it would be great, although a bit comitting (can't stop below 6♥). 4♣ gathers some info, but gets us stuck opposite 4♠ from partner, so just commits us to slam just the same way as 5♣.
I am thinking about rebidding something silly, like 2NT (GF), wich will find out how many spades partner has and if he wants to try somethin more by himself.
I wouldnever do this at the table, but also funny could be to rebid 1NT, I don't think this can be passed out, and partner will show his range somehow.

If you open 2C, the auction proceeds (I think... there may be a 4C call over 2D depending on how wild opps are. If so, then what?):
But in any case, it's clubs, not spades, so we're okay. 2C-2D-(4C)-5H should get the point across, I think. I have more of a problem with my (promises an A or a K) 2D,
In the other auction I assume it's going to go 2C-2D; 3H-4C-(X). I think you're still going to have to determine what to do over 7C, though.
1H-1S; I also like 5C. I agree with Adam that I might have trouble getting out in 6H. On the other hand, even if partner has KQxx, 6S might be okay.

The suggested auctions after 1♥ are very convincing. I'll stick to 2♣.
If LHO goes berserk over this, then my plan will be to bid hearts.
Btw, how do you answer to exclusion? I'm used to 0314 and then 1♥-1♠-5♣ is particularly unattractive, since I really don't want to ask for the ♠Q with 5♥ over 5♦ (0).

If I open 2C and my opponents preempt with 5C (ghasp!), I will scrape together what's left of my courage and bid my solid 9-card suit.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

reminds me a hand where I once had to overcall 2M over 2 clubs and then double to show I was the guy with the real 2♣ opener hehe.
If you played me, that would be very normal, since I play 2♣ as weak 2
I might go to the Rossi tournament on february, so there...

I knew it! That's why all the random 18s open 2♣!
