Another bet to be decided by bbo poll ?
I think fair line here is over/under 98% for K.

I think you have to allow for misvotes so 95% is probably closer

Must be a story behind this. Do tell.

I wasn't on lead and just wondered how many people would find a trump. In general I would lead trumps pretty often in this situation but obviously you have an attractive alternative lead. With the benefit of hindsight the poll should have been about the level of sanity of the trump lead rather than a straight up lead problem.

There was a semi-famous hand from NYC a few decades back, was also in 5D. I don't think this was it. It was at the Manhattan bridge club duplicate.

There was some impropriety by the defenders, sorry I cannot remember, and declarer was allowed to demand the opening lead of any suit. I am not sure such a ruling exists any more. He asked for a diamond! Yes!

It actually happened. I was defender at another table, and it was the days of travelers, and we all marveled on how one and only one declarer went down (2) in 5D, who found that lead and how? (It was actually a down 2 or make hand.)

Well, it wasn't UI.

A diamond lead is completely insane, IMO.

I don't think a diamond is completely insane.

Edit: Oh never mind thought partner opened 1C. On the actual auction I agree a diamond would be insane.

Agree that diamond lead is off the reservation.

Also what kind of 5 opening is that? :D

Against weakish opps, I do lead a trump.

Against decent opps, I consult "a higher power".
