I wonder if John Lennon somehow plugged into a cosmic melody machine that pumped music into his being - and I wonder if there was some trade off it that were the case. Do you have to be stoned to make the connection? Can you smoke pot or does it take something stronger, like LSD or heroin?

Pretty sure it is well known that Lennon tripped more times on acid than almost anyone. He references tripping many times in his songs. I think acid can make you reach a higher state that you can not otherwise reach, and I wouldn't be surprised if it helped their music a lot.

Heh. Doing it that much seems dumb, you hurt your brain and you don't gain as much from it each time.

You have to be practical and supplement each acid trip with some heroin down time. B)

Keep in mind Lennon was Heroin addict in the very worst sense of the word in addition to taking alot of Acid and many other drugs, booze and cigs.

Of course he was brilliant and I miss him terribly.

Famous philosophy changes for $1000, Alex:

After changing his name to Yusuf Islam, Cat Stevens got off the ol' Peace Train long enough to note that this author deserved to die -- and the Qur'an "makes it clear" that he must -- for writing his most famous book.
