Anyone ever use 5NT as ace asking?
Please elaborate.

5NT as Ace Asking

Yes.
I like to be able to investigate slams sensibly, including cue-bidding second-round controls freely, but still be able to avoid a grand slam that's missing an ace. In an auction like
...3♠ (spades are trumps)
4♣-4♦
where I have no heart control but otherwise have a slam drive, and would make a grand slam opposite enough keycards, I can continue
5♣-5♥
5NT (keycard)
In this sequence partner's red-suit cue-bids might be first- or second-round control.
The downside is that you lose GSF, so you might lose your ability to find a grand slam with Axxxxx opposite Kxxx. Also, you need good agreements about when 5NT is pick-a-slam. But you needed them anyway.

... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

More or less as gnasher, when the cuebidding or competition makes you go to the 5 level without being able to ask keycards 5NT aint grand slam force but RKCB.
