One of the other threads got me thinking.

1-2
2-2NT
3-?

As things are:

3 = spade cue, hearts agreed. Opener can bid serious 3NT.
3NT = to play
4 = club cue, but no knowledge of how serious Responder is, just that he has no spade control
4 = same thing as 4, essentially (a cue, but no seriousness statement)

As things could be:

3 = relay to 3NT (lead-director double would be by the person on lead if Responder then passes)
3NT = serious spade cue
4 = serious club cue
4 = serious diamond cue
3...4 = cooperative club cue
3...4 = cooperative diamond cue
3...4 = cooperative spade cue
(Opener can reject relay by bidding 4♥ or making a cue.)
"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

I think this would work pretty well. Might be tough to remember though. with no wakeup effect.

Fine in theory, would never play this in practice. The gains here are (clearly, in my opinion) not enough to justify it.

Another win for 3NT "non-serious." You don't need any special gadget and certainly nothing specific to this auction, just:

3, 4, 4 = cue for hearts
3NT = bad hand for heart slam (NF)

How is this different from standard?

It is not. It is random, non-responsive gibberish that misses the point.

Agree, it's very nice. It's very specific to this auction so I wouldn't agree to play it.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.
