Sarah Palin continues to be victimized by sexist articles about her expensive clothes, hair styling and makeup: Palin’s Makeup Stylist Fetches Highest Salary in 2-Week Period

Quote

Who was the highest paid individual in Senator John McCain’s presidential campaign during the first half of October as it headed down the homestretch?

Not Randy Scheunemann, Mr. McCain’s chief foreign policy adviser; not Nicolle Wallace, his senior communications staff member. It was Amy Strozzi, who was identified by the Washington Post this week as Gov. Sarah Palin’s traveling makeup artist, according to a new filing with the Federal Election Commission on Thursday night.

Ms. Strozzi, who was nominated for an Emmy award for her makeup work on the television show “So You Think You Can Dance?”, was paid $22,800 for the first two weeks of October alone, according to the records.

Gov. Palin is pushing back: Sarah Palin says clothing budget row is sexist

Quote

In an interview with the Chicago Tribune newspaper, Palin suggested that male candidates who dressed sharply for the campaign trail would not have faced the same scrutiny.

And, truthfully, we haven't read about male excesses in the appearance and grooming category since Edwards' $400 haircut.

It's good to know that the US is in such great shape these days that clothing and makeup are big issues.

Front page news, New York Times style. Must've been a slow day yesterday.

That they want to "improve" her (superficial) image is one thing. To spin it with the absurdity that they will be given to charity afterwards is just adding insult to injury.

I think I heard more about the $400 dollar haircut than the $22,800 make-up.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

It's much more appalling how she used tax money to bring her kids with her to political events than it is that the RNC spends a lot on her clothes. Personally I could care less, it's not taxpayer money so they can do what they want!

Confirmed (hoax confirmed, that is)...she's looking at charges for filing a false police report.

the letter B being carved in her face backward should have been a fairly decent clue...

And then when we can appreciate smoke, we should have their whole campaign strategy down pat.

This is hilarious -- a Canadian radio station made a prank call to Palin (as the French President):

It was kind of mean to do that to her. I wonder how they got her number?

I didn't catch all the French but there seemed to be something about a cochon in there. This might have been a clue.

Some guys having some fun. No harm done really. Some years back a plane took off from National airport and crashed shortly after. Howard Stern called the ticket counter and asked the price of a ticket from National to the Fourteenth Street bridge. Hassling Sarah pales in comparison, although it may be a bit of piling on.

A google on "africa is a country" reveals that Paris Hilton thinks West Africa is country. So Palin is in good company.

Do West Africans think that Paris Hilton is a hotel in France?

Isn't Sarah Palin supposed to be a university graduate? of journalism? this seems a VERY weird bit of non knowlege given the circumstances (not even considering the political situation she found herself in)

She went to 5 or 6 different colleges and ended up getting enough credits to graduate. Considering that some schools have journalism as a joke degree (most of the football team is majoring in "journalism"), I don't think it's shocking that she could graduate without having any knowledge of the world. I'm sure her skills at English and math are just fine.

BTW, I don't think it's all that odd. South Africa is a country. Why would it shock people if there was a place bordering Liberia who called itself West Africa?

let's not get into the discussion of what a college education means.
