Every time I log on with my laptop to the new Bridgebase online the program loads, prompts for user ID and password; upon pressing enter, the program seconds later always gives me a "Connection Lost" box and restarts me again. I have contacted Help/Support several times and have followed their advice including changing server port and host name. I have disconnected antivirus, antispam, spyremover etc all to no avail.I even tried to get on using a different ID and password and still the same problem.Strangely enough I was able to get on with my desktop computer.Until I can ressolve this issue I continue to use the Window program which is downloaded. Can someone help me?

Hi silver,
Make sure you are using the latest website
http://www.bridgebase.com/v2beta/

You might as a test use a different browser to see if it's some setting in the browser (Firefox <-> Internet Explorer).

Thanks,
Dan

I have exactly same problem from my office PC. I am using a mobile pc but I am inside a lan network and a firewall.
For example I can't connect using bbo client from my office. So I hoped it was possible using flash bbo, but I have the problem you have described.

Is there any solution ? (different from connecting to bbo using my mobile phone .... !!!! (or making a present to my office system administrator !!!)

Thx
Vincenzo

Hi Vincenzo.

Thank you for the sharing your same problem with me.Believe it or not I have still not found nor been given a solution to what really is likely to be a very simple problem. Why BBO hasn't been able to provide a fix is odd as usually they are very responsive to issues with their software. I find this incredible but such is the case! If and when a solution comes along I'll be the first to share it with you..Good bridging.

This is unlikely to be a simple problem, whatever it is.

To start from the top: lets see if the problem is that you are connecting and being disconnecting as opposed to failing to establish the connection.

From the laptop that is having trouble:
1. try to connect using silverpen
2. When that fails, connect from the desktop using either the web version or the desktop version of BBO.
3. Send me an email ( uday@ ) or post here telling us when you tried this ( approx time, ,timezone ).

That will supply us enough info to ascertain whether you connected at all.

Other things to try while waiting for us to take a look

- visit http://www.adobe.com/ and install the latest version of their free "flash player"
- clear the browser cache and try www.bridgebase.com again
- reboot the laptop

Sorry U, but I didn't understand which type of try I can make (if there is one):

(what does it mean "silverpen" ???)

I resume my problem:

1) I am in my office lan and I am using a lap top XP but I am not system administrator of this laptop (my company policy

2) There is a firewall on our network

3) I have no problems to browse internet - I can reach every ste; our standard is Microsoft explorer. I can use FTP, but pop protocol is not allowed (I can just read my email using "web mail" but not using a pop client (pop client just works inside our network, but can't reach other providers)

4) I can't connect bbo from this pc using netbridgevue because of firewall problems

5) Using flash bbo I reach the login screen without problems, but at the moment I insert my nick / Pw a message appears "Connection lost" ... so I never have been able to get main flash bbo screen after the login screen

6) Can I help you to understand the problem if - for example - tomorrow I try to connect from m y office and then will send you an email telling the time I have tried ?

I am sure it is not a simple problem to discover - just let me know if there is a chance or not !

Ciao
Vincenzo

Yours is a firewall problem (need to open port 3336).

Hello Uday,

I sent you a personal email reply as a result of you reply here.Just to confirm again I followed ALL your steps you suggested without success. One thing that a friend of mine who is a computer guru of sorts suggested was that your web server is over subscribed ie too much traffic. Is that possible? From where I sit your traffic has increased enormously particularly in the last year. The maximum number logged on one day was over 12,400 and it has happened frequently. You guys are certainly :) doing a great job at BBO..
Again, thanks for all your help.

Silverpen, if the problem were that BBO is overloaded, more people would be having problems.

BBO has procedures in place to bring more servers online when the load grows.
